On a recent trip to South Australia, two things stood out as we were walking around the city. One was the lack of roadside litter and the other was the numbers of people with trollys or garbage bags looking for it.

Albany Wood Pellet Plant Opens

 Forestry Minister Terry Redman  officially opened Plantation Energy’s $25million wood pellet plant, the first of its kind in Australia.
“This plant ticks all the right boxes: a new industrial sector, valuable export dollars, production of renewable energy, creating new employment for the region, finding a commercial use of low value or waste products and improving plantation viability,” Mr Redman said.

Michael Schumacher’s Car in Albany

Formula 1 racing legend Michael Schumacher’s famous red Ferrari will be on show in Albany on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th June 2009. This will be it’s first trip to the Great Southern of Western Australia.

2009-2010 Budget Secures Great Southern
