Albany Classic Car Race
30 to 1 June 2009
In 1936, Albany was the first mainland town in Australia to host a “round the houses” car race.
The event was highly successful and continued for nearly 30 years. The “Albany Classic” as it is now known, is run annually and has become one of Albanys icon events. The “Albany Classic” is a 2 day event, traditionally held over the June Long Weekend.
The event encompasses a hill climb at Mt Clarence on Saturday & the “round-the-houses” re-enactment on Sunday 31st May 2009
On Sunday the streets come alive to the roar of historic motor sport as a wide variety of historic category vehicles compete against the clock in a trial regularity.
The weekend is alive with activities, entertainment, stalls and fun for the entire family

Mt Clarence Hill Climb
The Mt Clarence Hill Climb is run by the Vintage Sports Car Club of WA. The hill climb is a round of the LP Preformance WA speed series. The Hill climb is 850meters

Albany Wind Farm Hill Climb
The Albany Wind Farm Hill climb is the final event that makes up 3 days of competition know as the Albany Weekender Classic Motoring Event This hill climb is 1.36km long and is a must for the Rally fan as many of our WA State rally driver compete in this event. This is also a round of the LP Preformance WA speed series
